Harvest the Wisdom of Your Soul Story
Harvest the Wisdom Within - Gathering the Stories That Are Ready to Be Shared
August has always felt like a sacred pause.
The hurried excitement of spring has settled. Summer's vibrant energy begins to soften. Fields are heavy with grain, gardens overflow with tomatoes and sunflowers, and orchards bend beneath the weight of fruit that has taken months to ripen.
Nature reminds us of a beautiful truth: nothing meaningful blooms overnight.
Every harvest begins with a tiny seed hidden beneath the soil. Long before anyone sees the blossoms or gathers the fruit, unseen work is taking place. Roots are reaching deeper. Stems are growing stronger. Quiet transformation is unfolding beneath the surface.
Our lives are much the same.
We often measure ourselves by what is visible—our accomplishments, our titles, our successes, or the goals we have yet to achieve. Yet the richest harvest of all isn't found in what we've done. It is found in who we've become along the way.
As your Soul Story Mentor, I believe August invites us into a different kind of harvest.
It asks us to gather the wisdom our lives have been cultivating all along.
Every Experience Plants a Seed
Have you ever noticed that some of life's greatest lessons don't reveal themselves until years later?
A painful disappointment eventually becomes resilience.
A season of uncertainty grows into unwavering faith.
A relationship that ended unexpectedly teaches us the value of healthy boundaries.
A dream that didn't unfold as planned opens a door we never would have chosen—but one that ultimately leads us exactly where we needed to be.
At the time, those experiences may have felt like failures, detours, or endings.
Today, they may be among your greatest teachers.
The wisdom wasn't obvious while you were living through the experience.
Like seeds beneath the soil, it needed time to grow.
The Harvest Begins with Awareness
The first Soul Story Truth is Awareness.
Before we can appreciate the harvest, we must notice what has grown.
So often, we focus on what remains unfinished instead of recognizing how far we've already come. We celebrate the next milestone while overlooking the quiet courage it took simply to keep moving forward.
Take a moment to reflect.
Who were you five years ago?
What worried you then that no longer holds power over you?
Where have you become more compassionate?
More patient?
More confident?
More willing to trust yourself?
These changes may not make headlines.
But they are evidence of profound transformation.
Awareness asks us to stop rushing long enough to recognize the abundance already present in our lives.
Rewriting the Meaning of Our Story
The second Soul Story Truth is Rewrite.
Harvesting wisdom requires more than remembering what happened.
It asks us to reconsider what those experiences mean.
For years, you may have carried a story that said:
"I failed."
"I wasn't enough."
"I should have known better."
But what if those chapters were never meant to define you?
What if they were preparing you?
When we rewrite our stories, we don't erase difficult experiences.
We honor them.
Then we look beyond the pain to discover the gifts they quietly cultivated.
Perhaps disappointment taught perseverance.
Perhaps loss deepened your compassion.
Perhaps uncertainty strengthened your intuition.
The facts remain the same.
But the meaning changes everything.
Joy Is Part of the Harvest
The final Soul Story Truth is Choose Joy.
Many women postpone joy until everything feels finished.
"When I write the book..."
"When I have more confidence..."
"When life settles down..."
Yet nature never waits for perfection before celebrating abundance.
The sunflower blooms despite the weeds nearby.
The apple tree bears fruit after enduring storms.
The garden doesn't apologize for growing at its own pace.
Neither should you.
Joy is not a reward waiting at the end of your journey.
It is nourishment for the journey itself.
When you pause to celebrate small victories, honor your progress, and express gratitude for the wisdom you've gathered, you create fertile ground for the next season of growth.
The Stories Ready to Be Shared
There are stories you've carried quietly for years.
Stories that once felt too painful.
Too ordinary.
Too personal.
Too unfinished.
Yet something has changed.
You've lived long enough to recognize the wisdom hidden within them.
You've gained enough perspective to offer hope instead of simply recounting hardship.
Your story no longer belongs only to your past.
It has become a gift for someone else's future.
The story you've been hesitant to tell may be the very one another woman needs to hear today.
Not because your life has been perfect.
But because it has been honest.
Your vulnerability becomes someone else's permission.
Your resilience becomes someone else's possibility.
Your hope becomes someone else's beginning.
Because I have had the "gift" of breast cancer three times, and yes I do mean gift, I can tell you from experience nothing is ever random in our lives. When we are in the struggle to cope, we rarely understand the transformation we are undergoing.
My breast cancer brought me clarity about who I want to be and the courage to keep showing up to have an impact on the world through my writing.
Your August Invitation
This month, I invite you to harvest the wisdom within.
Open your journal.
Sit quietly with a cup of tea.
Take a walk through nature.
Notice what memories gently return to you.
Instead of asking, "What should I write?" ask a different question:
"What wisdom is my soul ready to gather?"
Write about the lesson that took years to understand.
Write about the moment you discovered your own strength.
Write about the ordinary experience that quietly transformed your life.
Write about the joy that surprised you after sorrow.
Trust what comes.
The stories that continue to visit your heart are not interruptions.
They are invitations.
They are ripe.
They are ready.
And perhaps, so are you.
