In a world overflowing with designated days—some sweet like National Candy Corn Day, others silly like Take Your Teddy Bear to Work Day, or deeply significant like Breast Cancer Awareness Month—there’s a reminder that behind every cause, every ribbon, is a real story. And sometimes, those stories hit closer to home than we expect. For many, breast cancer awareness isn’t just a yearly reminder but an ever-present part of life.

Growing up on a farm in southern Minnesota, I never could have imagined celebrating my 75th birthday as an author, speaker, and writing mentor. Yet here I am—living my dream! On October 3, 2025, I stood on stage at the Minneapolis Conference Center, speaking to more than 300 women who were eager to hear my story. What a thrill—and what a moment of full-circle joy!

Your legacy isn’t found in the “stuff” you accumulate—your wealth, your property, or your physical belongings. Your legacy is found in the way you live your life, how you treat others, the kindness you show, and the love you give.
